Wow! It was an Amazing Weekend

Four Lady Seventy Sixers team played in Tennessee and amassed an amazing record of 15 wins and 1 loss in route to sending 3 teams to the Championship games.  Equally amazing, all three teams had to settle for runner-up finishes due to excellent play from teams from Tennessee, Ohio and Alabama.

Congratulations to Coach Gibson, Coach Toney and Coach Wiley and all of their assistant coaches:  Coach Kimberly Brown, Coach Xavier McDaniel, Coach Charles Davis, Coach Jack Williams.

ATL The Southeastern Showcase

Anthony Toney’s Southern Premiere held its Fall Evaluation “The Southeastern Showcase” at Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia. Coaches Roger Wiley and Anthony Toney both traveled to Georgia with two teams of South Carolina players to take advantage of the last exposure event before the start of high school basketball.  The Lady Sixers were still in great form from their fantastic summer finishes.  Going to the Atlanta area for Wiley’s 16s were:

Both teams went undefeated in nine exciting games.  The Sixers-Wiley team went 5-0 and the Sixers-Toney team went 4-0. One of the highlights of the competition was a rematch of the 14u DI AAU championship from the 2008 season.  The gold medal winning Georgia Pistols Elite coached by Percy Gordan verses the silver medal winning South Carolina Lady Sixers-Wiley.  The 76ers Wiley got out to an awesome start and hung on to win the game by 10 points.  Another thrilling game featured the 2009 AAU gold medal winning Georgia Pistols 12u against the 76er-Toney.  The game featured lots of great young players and was extremely fun to watch.  The 76ers-Toney beat the game Pistols squad.  ESPN was present at the Southeastern Showcase and highlighted numerous players to include Asia Dozier and Khadijah Sessions.  Now! back to Fall League play.
